Volunteer Opportunities
Be the Voice on the Other End of the Line... 211 SLO Hotline Volunteers form the core of our service to the community. Ranging in age from 18 to 80, they bring a diversity of experience and skills, and share a common interest in helping others. As a 211 SLO Hotline Volunteer, you will be trained to help staff the County’s only 24-hour hotline and will make a difference in the lives of youth, seniors, and families by helping to locate resources and support services. Volunteers learn the skills required to appropriately refer callers to community agencies and aid in diffusing crisis situations. , one special hotliner's story.Requirements Training The initial orientation training includes 20 hours of workshops plus mentoring with an experienced Volunteer. After the initial training phase, four hours a week of volunteer commitment is required. Volunteer day/times are flexible. We will work around your schedule!
