Telecare
Senior Telecare program provides reassurance and comfort during the week to elderly and shut-in persons in the San Luis Obispo County area with a daily telephone call to check on their well-being, or to just hear a friendly voice.
Hotline is always looking for caring volunteers to place telephone calls to homebound seniors. Information, Referral & Crisis Intervention Hotline 211 SLO Hotline offers free, confidential, 24-hour information, referral, support and crisis intervention phone service, acting as the “after hours” contact for many local service providers and support groups. In addition, Hotline has been designated as the County's agency to provide 211 service. This easy-to-remember number helps assist twice as many San Luis Obispo residents find the help they need. 211 SLO Hotline’s Resource and Support Specialists provide over 8,000 hours of service to the community and handle around 12,000 contacts each year. |
TESTIMONIALS
"I am truly grateful for the peace of mind this has given me and I am hoping it means that I will be able to stay in my own home for the remainder of my life.” "I called Hotline after I took something to kill myself. I don't know why I even called. It was my second attempt and I was determined to kill myself. But my doctor had given me the number, so I called it. I told the lady at 211 that I had taken something to kill myself. She said I should go in and wake my Dad and tell him - if not they would send an ambulance. Without the Doctor's directive to call the number, and the lady at 211's caring influence, I'm sure I would have just laid down and waited to die. Thanks Hotline!" |
