Mid-State Bank Initiates Founding Sponsors Campaign: Contributes $25,000 to Hotline of San Luis Obispo County
San Luis Obispo, Calif.- Albertsons recently donated $5,000 to Hotline of San Luis Obispo County as part of the store’s ongoing efforts to encourage volunteerism in the community.
The award came on behalf of Arroyo Grande Albertsons’ store director Mike Miller, in response to his involvement with the Albertsons community service program, CORUS.
“As everyone knows, there are many great and worthwhile non-profit organizations in our area,” Miller said. “Albertsons has singled out Hotline as an outstanding organization, more than worthy of this donation.”
Albertsons’ heritage of leadership has always included a strong focus on community involvement, particularly when it comes to feeding the hungry. Miller and his associates have done a fabulous job of engaging the community in a variety of events and causes. For their efforts they were awarded prize money to be donated to the charity of their choice, and they chose Hotline.
Hotline of San Luis Obispo County is the area’s only 24-hour, volunteer staffed information, referral and crisis hotline.
Serving our community since 1970, Hotline is a critical, central point of communication in the event of a disaster — ready to connect people to the services they need and deliver essential information to the public. It is San Luis Obispo’s every day safety net.
Hotline publishes the county’s only comprehensive guide of health and human services as well as free support groups (over 500 listings). The 2006 Human Services Directory is set to be released in May.
