What kind of information do you give out?
211 provides information on about local agencies and programs that serve San Luis Obispo County who can provide assistance for a variety of needs. Examples include referrals for emergency shelter, rent or utility assistance, substance abuse, elder services, relationships, food, depression, employment, health care, abuse, parenting, crisis intervention, suicide prevention and disaster recovery.

What can you expect when you call the 211 Hotline?
You will receive the assistance of a trained professional in helping you to determine what referrals and what plan will meet your specific need.

How much does it cost to call the 211 Hotline?
Nothing. There is no charge to call 211 or 549-8989.

Where are you located?
Hotline's location is confidential.

What types of calls does 211 recieve?
We receive calls regarding health services; food; clothing; housing; government resources; education; employment; counseling; support groups; recreation; community groups; services for children, youth, families and older adults; and many more topics.

What about emergencies?
211 is not an emergency line. Call 911 if you’re facing a situation that requires help from police, fire or medical resources.

When can I call?
211 is available to you 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Call anytime you need help.

Who can call?
Any resident of San Luis Obispo County who has the ability to access 211 via a land line. If you cannot access 211 via a land line, please call 549-8989 or toll-free 800-549-8989.

Can people under 18 years old call 211?
Yes!
