Suicide Prevention Forum

This year's Suicide Prevention Forums discusses "When can Stress lead to Suicide". Updates will include warning signs and what to do, risk factors for veteran's, impact of alcohol and drugs,
community resources that are available, survivor support groups, and youth and elder suicide. No reservations are necessary. Speakers include Hotline’s Program Manager Mike Bossenberry and returning speaker and multi-award winning SLO Author of Thirteen Reasons Why, Jay Asher.

17th Annual Wiggle Waggle Walk for Woods at Laguna Park
October 24th, 9am - 2pm
The community is invited to come out with their beloved four legged companions to participate in this year’s walk. The goal of the event is to provide local dog lovers
an opportunity to celebrate the human/animal bond and generating much needed financial support for the homeless animals at Woods Humane Society. K9 Contests will include
Owner Look-A-Like, Sloppiest Kisser, Best Halloween Costume and more. Visit the Hotline booth to enter your dog in the Miss Wiggle & Mr. Waggle Contest and to play fun doggie games.

HANDS on Health Festival at Cal Poly's Performing Arts Center
October 30th -31st, 10am - 4pm
Come learn what is health living on the Central Coast at the first annual collaborative Central Coast symposium on health and nutrition. Two days of festivities featuring health
in an interactive, fun, and entertaining atmosphere. Friday’s events will showcase national and local research that expands our understanding of human health for an audience of
educators, medical professionals, students and scientists. Saturday’s events will focus on individual, family, and community health featuring games, workshops, educational booths,
music, food and activities. Participants can expect to taste new recipes, watch cooking demonstrations, check their blood pressure, get screened for risk factors and more. Come visit
the Hotline booth on Saturday to learn about local resources to promote your health as well as how to save money on your PG&E utility bill with the CARE Program.
