CARE (California Alternate Rates for Energy)

CARE program provides a 20 percent discount on monthly bills for qualified low- or fixed-income households and housing facilities. Qualifications are based on the number of people living in your home and your total annual household income.

CARE Residential Single Family

Apply to receive a 20 percent discount on your PG&E bill every month.

To Qualify:

• The PG&E bill must be in your name.
• You must live more than half of the year at the address where the discount will be received (not for second homes).
• You may not share an energy meter(s) with another home.
• Only your spouse can claim you as a dependent on a tax return.
• Your household must meet the CARE income eligibility requirements.
• You must notify PG&E if your income changes.
• Tenants of sub-metered mobile home parks, apartments and marinas should contact us for the Sub-Metered Tenant Program application.

Please remember to add our Community Outreach Contractor (COC) number 338 at the bottom of the form.
